I will SUMMARIZE, HIGHLIGHT, compare translations, dig into a word study, & collate findings.
Gen 1:1-5 God created the Heavens and the Earth. Spirit was on the formless void. Day 1 highlights the pattern used for the first 5 days of Creation.
Creation from most general to the most specific. Things were made from other things.
Day 6 is a pattern change. Creating beasts was good.
Creation of man involved more conversation by God with Himself.
Mankind is special: in image of God, given authority over creation.
People and animals were given food.
Creation of mankind was VERY good.
What does it mean to be made in the image of God?
Both men and women are made in God’s image.
Sex and procreation is a blessing from God.
Alternate translations don’t vary much other than modern words for old words.
What’s the difference between created vs made? Expanse vs firmament vs waters?
What the difference between image vs likeness? Kind vs species?
What the difference between dominion vs rule vs subdue?
How long is each day of Creation?
Genesis 1 conclusions.
Genesis 2 Summary.
Day of rest. The way Earth was at the time of the Garden of Eden.
How man was created.
Special trees and commandments.
Promised helper, animals, and woman.
